How to get a turnover certificate
- Enter the years. Usually the last 3 financial years for tenders.
- Match the source. Use audited accounts; match with ITR and GSTR-9.
- Verify and UDIN. The CA checks the records and generates UDIN.
- Sign on letterhead. Submit only for the stated purpose.
Common questions
Is UDIN compulsory on a CA certificate?
Yes. ICAI requires a Unique Document Identification Number (UDIN) on every certificate signed by a practising Chartered Accountant. Generate it on udin.icai.org after finalising the figures, and quote it on the certificate.
Which format should be followed?
The format follows the ICAI Guidance Note on Reports or Certificates for Special Purposes: purpose, responsibilities, basis, certificate and restriction on use, with an annexure of figures.
Which documents are needed?
For net worth: property deeds or valuation reports, bank statements, FD receipts, demat and mutual fund statements, policy and PF statements, vehicle RC and loan statements. For turnover: audited financial statements, ITRs and GST returns.
Can only a CA issue this?
Yes. This tool prepares a draft. The certificate must be verified and signed by a practising Chartered Accountant on the firm’s letterhead.
